Craft Beer Blog
It has been sometime since our last blog post and for that we are sorry. The Fall and Winter of 2013 had us might busy at the Rhizome Productions camp. You might have noticed that we added several new events in Nashville, as well as in Greenville South Carolina. We have had a few weeks to stop, and smell the hops but we are now hard at work planning our 2014 events.
First up on March 22, we will return to Tupelo, Mississippi where we host the Tupelo Craft Beer Festival. Last years festival was a great time, despite cold wind, and snow; yes all of that in Tupelo! It is great to see the direction Mississippi is moving in regards to beer as a whole, and in just one year our lineup of MS breweries has doubled! We are excited … Read More »
Back in October we got to bring along some of our friends from Native (Nashville based magazine) along for a ride on the Nashville Brew Bus. We drank some good beer, ate some good food, talked shop, and overall enjoyed. They wrote an article about who we are and what we are all about, check it out-http://native.is/drink/matt-leff/
Thats right folks, we are at it again! We are very excited to be bringing our passion and creativity to Greenville, South Carolina on November 16th, 2013. The Inaugural Greenville Craft Beer Festival will take place at Flour Field at the West End for the first time in history, from 12-5pm. We are very happy to be partnering with Liberty Taproom, The Rise Guys and Rock 101/New Rock 93.3 The Planet, eGreenville, and Greenville Sports Leagues.
The Greenville Craft Beer Festival will go on sale Monday September 23rd at www.greenvillecraftbeerfestival.com and tickets will be limited. As many of you likely have noticed, Nashville and the state of Tennessee is quickly becoming a destination for craft beer seekers and supporters. With all the excitement in the craft beer world we were honored when the Tennessee State Fair Association came to us for support and guidance on hosting the first all Tennessee Brewery event, right here in Nashville. With the support of over twenty breweries, the Tennessee Craft Brewers Guild, and several key people, we all are very excited to announce that on September 6th, 2013 we will host the Taste of Tennessee Craft Brewers Festival.
This will be the first time, likely in the history of Tennessee, that there will be an event that celebrates locally brewed beer from all over our great state. You can expect over 60 different beers, gourmet food trucks, beer education, meet … Read More »
OK folks here is the information you all have been waiting to hear. As we said previously we plan to sell tickets to the 12 South Winter Warmer on TWO different days, increasing everyones chances. Please understand there are several factors that keep the Winter Warmer small:
1-Sevier Park is not very big and offers no parking, therefore we try to minimize our impact on the community.
2-A large percentage of the beers that are offered at the Winter Warmer are very rare, and sometimes only exist at the Winter Warmer.
That being said our two on sale days will be: Friday October 11th 9AM CST, and Saturday October 12th 8AM CST. Mark your calendars and be prepared.
We can’t wait to see you all again!
Last summer we here at Rhizome Productions had the great opportunity to visit Munich, Germany and be part of their amazing beer culture. While we were not there during their annual Oktoberfest (actually in September), we still got to experience traditional German beer gardens and beer halls, and highly suggest a trip there if you ever have the chance.
Pictured here is the Chinesischer Turm, or Chinese Tower Biergarten. This is by far the most popular and exciting Biergarten in Munich, with beers from Hofbrau Brewery and an array of amazing German delights.
You are probably now asking, why are we telling you about a trip taken last summer? Here is why we are so excited! Rhizome Productions Inc. is proud to announce that we will be hosting the first true German inspired Tennessee Volkfest (Whats’s a Volkfest? Click Here) on … Read More »
Big day here in Nashville, unfortunately rainy, but needless to say congrats to all who ran in the Country Music Marathon. Its been a very busy past few weeks here at Rhizome Productions and its not going to slow down until 5/31 when we host Brew at the Zoo, here in Nashville. We have some fun and exciting new projects on the horizon; some here in town and some in other great states. Keep up.
In the mean time we figured we would share our beer plans for this soggy day. They include:
Brooklyn Brewery Blue Apron
Grassroots Brewing Convivial Suarez
Three Floyds Baller Stout
Cheers and Happy Craft Beer Drinking To You All!
“The beer is made in the traditional way with the addition of Curacao orange peel and coriander to the kettle and fermented with traditional Belgian yeast” says Kent Taylor, Co-Founder of Blackstone Brewing Company. “Tradition was left behind when the group decided on the hops for this beer. A healthy addition of the New Zealand hop Pacific Jade and the American hop Centennial transform this beer into a tantalizing mix of old and new world flavors.”
Beer Name: Collabinator Wit, Style: American-Belgo Wit (White Beer), 25 IBUS
Brewed collectively by Blackstone Brewing Company, Cool Springs Brewery, Fat Bottom Brewing, Jackalope Brewing, and Yazoo Brewing Company on March 2nd 2013.
The beer will be available starting Monday March 18th at the breweries that collaborated on the beer, The East Nashville Beer Festival, as well as select retailers in Nashville during craft beer week. $1 from every … Read More »

Tonight was the first call to action by Tennessee Brewers, Wholesales, Supporters, and Law makers to start working fix the beer tax in Tennessee.
Tennessee has the highest beer tax rate in the nation, 12% higher than No. 2 Alaska, and rising higher every year. It is so high that if you cut it in half, it would still be the 11th highest. The current law, enacted in the 1950s, taxes beer based on price rather than volume, making Tennessee one of only two states in the country that burdens its businesses — and ultimately its consumers — this way.
