Tennessee Volksfest | September 13-14, 2014

    We would like to take a moment to thank everyone that attended and participated in the 2014 Tennessee Volksfest.  Our second year proved to be great, and our new home of the Nashville Farmers’ Market was perfect.  We look forward to returning in 2015, make sure you check back here or follow us on Facebook for the latest information.

    The Tennessee Volksfest presented by Hallmark Volkswagen will be bringing the tradition and tastes of Munich to Nashville, on September 13th and 14th at the Nashville Farmers Market.  The Tennessee Volksfest is a free event that is open to all ages and will feature German food, beer, a kids zone, live music, and a vintage Volkswagen car show.

    We will be creating a traditional German bier garden that will offer seating for nearly 1000 people! Traditional German beers will include offerings from Franziskaner, Hofbräu, Krombacher, and Spaten.   Both beer and food will be sold at the event, to purchase this items simply visit the welcome tent to purchase your Volksfest Tokens, which are $5 each.  Beers are 1 token, and food will range from 1-2 tokens.

    How much is food and beer?   
            Beer and food must be purchased with tokens, which you can pre purchase online or when you arrive at the festival.  Tokens are valued at $5, one beers is one token, food ranges from one to two token.

    Are kids welcome?
             Yes!  The Tennessee Volksfest is an all ages event and we have plenty of activities for the kids. 

    Are pets welcome?
             Friendly dogs, on leash are welcome.  If you dog is not well behaved around other dogs or lots of people leave them at home!


    • NO Weapons of any kind.
    • NO illegal substances.
    • The Nashville Farmers Market is a non smoking venue
    • NO Bags or Backpacks (small purses and camera bags allowed).
    • No outside food or beverage. 
    • Please help us show the community that we are responsible by being aware of your alcohol consumption and do NOT drive while intoxicated. See our Directions page for buses, taxis and other transportation info. All attendees, staff members, and volunteers’ actions before, during, and after the event will affect the future of the Tennessee Volksfest. 
  • Beer and Food

    It is our goal to create the most authentic event possible, therefore we will only be offering imported German beers.  All beers will be $5 and your first beer will be $10 but include a glass half liter stein, which is yours to keep.

    For this year we are excited to announce that Riff’s Fine Street Food will be on site and preparing an amazing menu! Below is the full menu, but expect to see some daily special and surprises!

    Large Pretzel with house made mustard
    Grilled Bratwurst on a bun
    Spatzle Donuts with porter beer reduction sauce

    Schnitzel Platter- Pork Schnitzel, Warm German potato Salad, Sauerkraut
    Pretzel and Sausage Platter- big pretzel, 2 sausages, 2 house made mustards
    Currywurst- Grilled sausage served over french fries, topped with house made curry ketchup
    Sweet Corn Schnitzel-served fritter style, cucumber onion salad, sauerkraut

    Nashville Farmers’ Market is located at 900 Rosa L. Parks Blvd. Nashville, TN 37208–north of downtown Nashville, and adjacent to Bicentennial Park.

    The Nashville Farmers’ Market offers FREE parking as well as street parking in and around the market.  Additionally, on the weekends all State parking lots are open and free, you will find all of these lots are to the EAST of the Farmers Market.  If you do drive to the Tennessee Volksfest and plan to enjoy beer, please make sure to have a designated driver.

  • Entertainment

    We are excited to announce that we will be offering live music on both Saturday and Sunday.  We have 2 bands that will be performing, some of which are traditional bavarian style bands.  Schedule may vary, but they will be playing in our beer garden so you cant miss it!

    We also will have a great kid zone with bounce houses, alpine slide, face painters, and games.

    For all the Foot Ball fans out there we have teamed up with Dish Network and will have both College and NFL foot ball showing all weekend on numerous screens.

    Saturday- Tansova Grupa will be playing through out the day on Saturday, their sets will include traditional German/Bavarian tunes, as well as fun Eastern European dance songs.

    Sunday- The Musik Miesters will be performing through out the day on Sunday! Get ready for great German music and sing alongs!

    We are honored to support the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.  They will be receiving a donation from the Tennessee Volksfest. Our 2013 donation about was $2,500.


    Organized in 1978, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is a private, not-for-profit, tax-exempt organization. Second Harvest’s mission is to feed hungry people and work to solve hunger issues in our community. Second Harvest distributes food and other products to approximately 400 nonprofit partner agencies in 46 counties in Middle and West Tennessee. Our partners include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, childcare facilities, senior centers, group homes, and youth enrichment programs.
